Rupa: Of course a store owner is not a perfect life, but right now I'm store owner, production manager, AND designer. I guess I can't put marketing consultant and accountant on the list because I barely have time to get to those.

Rajashree: I can't give details about the approximate investment, although anyone can figure out the range if you consider a 1200 square foot store in a nice area in Chennai. And this franchise must be location in Chennai. Ideally, and I know life is often far from ideal, the partner would be someone who is already acquainted with Brass Tacks- someone who understands the brand and believes in it too.

Well what is the approximate investment u are lookin at as the partner's contribution and where would be the franchise located? why iam askin this is if the partner stays in one plc and store is gona be located in the other end it becomes tuff again. Hey...so sorry to hear that the staffing problem rained on your parade, but remember this is the learning curve of an entreprenuer!

I really can't think of any of my colleagues that has the "perfect" life, being a store owner....

Franchising is a whole other ball game and I doubt that it will be something you should step into as you are still learning the "joys" of retailing! A franchisee will expect a lot from you and I'm not sure you can offer that help right now...

......but actively look for a partner that can compliment products to with your clothes...like shoes/handbags/jewelry, someone who is starting out fresh and would love to work with a person such as you that has an established clientele.

As to a store, look for a heritage home or some such place that would be perfect for your kind of clothes....have you thought about talking to the ladies at Chamiers, it might be a very good location and customers are there all the time :)
